From your photos to your handheld.
A ROM is the album file your emulator or compatible cartridge runs. Start by making the album here; choose a physical cartridge after generation if you’d like one.
1. Make it yours
Choose the .gb or .gbc file format, then upload your photos. Both use the same retro green palette; .gbc does not preserve the original photo colors. Crop, adjust, reorder, and name them while checking the converted previews. Uploading and editing are free, with no account required.
Review your album and sign in to generate. The review shows the credit cost before generation.
2. Download and keep your ROM
Successful generation starts a download and takes you to cartridge design. Keep the .gb or .gbc file in a folder you can find again. Check your browser’s downloads or your device’s Files app; the download location depends on your browser settings. The cartridge designer also has a download button for the completed album.
To view the album in an emulator, use its Open, Load, or Import option and select your ROM. Choose an emulator that supports your album’s platform. Renaming a .gbc file to .gb does not convert it to the .gb format.
To use your own flash cartridge, follow its manufacturer’s instructions for loading ROMs. Some load files from a memory card; others need a compatible writer. Check the exact cartridge, writer, and console combination before buying or flashing hardware.
3. Make a physical edition
In the cartridge designer, choose a shell color and keep the default sticker or upload your own label image. Check your album, label crop, and order details before checkout. Cartridge purchase is optional and priced separately from ROM generation.
Already have a GBGallery album? Open the older album section in your account to order a cartridge without editing or generating the album again.
Includes your album on a cartridge, your chosen or custom sticker, and a small protective plastic case. Keep the default GBGallery sticker or upload your own label image.
Signed-in cartridge orders earn 3 credits for a future ROM generation after payment, once per order regardless of copies. Guest orders earn no rewards. Reward credits remain yours if the order is refunded. Generation and cartridges are priced separately.
In-stock orders dispatch within 2 business days, followed by an estimated 3–5 days in transit. If any selected color is backordered, allow an estimated 2–3 weeks before shipment. Your entire order waits until all copies are ready and ships together.
We currently ship to the United States only. Shipping is $6 per order.
We test cartridges in-house before shipping.

Contact support to request cancellation before shipment. Orders cannot be cancelled once shipped. For any defect, contact support so we can review the issue and help.
Lost shipments are eligible for a refund; contact support for help. Change-of-mind returns are not accepted.
Console not included. You’ll need compatible hardware to use the cartridge, or a compatible emulator or flash cartridge to load a downloaded ROM.
Keep it personal
Enjoy your album as often as you like, flash your own cartridge, or share the file for free with friends. Commercial use or distribution is not permitted. Downloaded ROMs can be copied, so share only photos you are comfortable giving to others.
Choose the format for your setup
Choose .gb for classic compatible handhelds or .gbc for color-capable hardware and emulators. Compatibility also depends on your emulator or physical cartridge and hardware setup.
